It was only in the very beginning of the occupation that the German army paid for the consumption with Reichskreditkassenscheine. Very soon the Danish government and the Nationalbanken concluded an agreement with Germany that all German consumption in Denmark and import from Denmark should be paid for by the Germans drawing cheques on the Nationalbanken.
